Another overnight in Campbellford

Today was another rainy day \u2013 a good day to stay put. Catherine pulled out her sewing machine and worked some more on the Sunbrella fabric exterior window coverings. She managed to \u00a0get two small exterior window coverings done for the front cabin windows. Now Skipper Wally has to help install the dome fasteners on the fabric and around the window so we can try them out. That\u2019s a blue job.<\/p>\n

I worked on draft entries for the blog while Catherine was sewing.<\/p>\n

The local YMCA had an open swim session around noon so Catherine took a cab and enjoyed a swim at their brand new facility, about 2.5 kms from where we were moored. While she was doing that, I walked over to the local Canadian Tire Store (CTC) to pick up some more \u201cboating supplies\u201d.<\/p>\n

I have spent a considerable amount of time and money at several CTC and Home Hardware stores along the way. They often have just what I am looking for, or, if I need something more specialized, they usually have an alternative that will do the job just fine until I can get to a marine chandlery.<\/p>\n

Wally’s healthy lunch option – my first Pogo in about 25 years!<\/p><\/div>\n

With Catherine off swimming, I was by myself for lunch. She said there was a caf\u00e9 at the YMCA and she planned to have a bite to eat there after her swim, therefore I should look after myself for the noon meal. I chose the healthy meal option from a very busy food truck that was setup at the edge of the CTC parking lot.<\/p>\n

Catherine returned to the boat early in the afternoon. The weather was still unsettled so we had a nice afternoon nap and then walked back to the fabric store so Catherine could look around some more while I went to the Dollar Store.<\/p>\n

The rain had let up for awhile so we did what we had seen many other people do over the past few days. The staff at the Chamber of Commerce office said that the Twoonie was probably the most photographed place in the town!<\/p>\n

Catherine has a firm hand on our finances<\/p><\/div>\n

Around 6:00 pm we walked back across the bridge to the Riverview Restaurant and shared a big plate of nachos and a large beer. The healthy eating continues \u2013 this could be habit forming!<\/span><\/p>\n

After dinner we walked over the to the nearby Metro store for some more groceries. Catherine enforced a \u201cno junk food\u201d policy. Can\u2019t say that I was in any position to argue with her after my indulgences yesterday and today.<\/p>\n
