We have now traveled about 1,700 nautical miles from Florida and are over halfway to our first port of call. We’re pretty much in the middle zone of the Atlantic Ocean now. The blue dot in the screen shot below shows the ship’s current position. Never thought that I would ever be here on a ship of any kind \ud83d\ude42

\nThe winds have died down a bit and there is now much more blue sky and sun showing. A welcome change from the past few days.<\/p>\n

I have not seen another ship since we left Fort Lauderdale. Perhaps they have passed by us in the night while I was sleeping or I was on the opposite side of the ship when they were in sight on the horizon.<\/p>\n

After breakfast this morning I spent some time typing up notes about our plans for the Marine Trader Trawler. I must confess that while I am enjoying the repositioning cruise I would much rather be getting the trawler ready for the big trip back to Canada. Oh well, that time will come soon enough.<\/p>\n

Even though the sun is shining there is still a lot of side to side movement on the ship and the air is getting a bit cooler (17 degrees C). As a result, more people are staying inside and it’s harder to find a quiet place to sit.<\/p>\n

I found a table in one of the lobby bars that was not open yet and relaxed for a couple of hours reading a book & typing notes on my iPad. At one point I stopped for a stretch and saw myself on the ceiling. Maybe I should install some mirrors on the ceiling of the trawler! I think Catherine will vote against that idea.

\nI phoned Catherine last night using my SKYPE to landline calling account. The connection wasn’t too bad considering my location and the fact that I was sharing a satellite internet connection with many other passengers. It was nice to talk with each other but it also made me feel a bit lonely. I think that this will be the one and only cruise-ship cruise that I take by myself.<\/p>\n

Time to go. Need to snack at the buffet to build up my energy level before making a couple of trips around the ship on the Promenade deck. And then shortly after that it will almost be dinner time.<\/p>\n
