At the end of the tour we were treated to a performance by one of the senior student drummers and by one of the actors. Here’s a photo of him getting ready for the show.

In this class students were learning how to make the costumes that the performers would wear. This work is very intricate, with carving, sewing, painting and working with gold foil.

A nice thing about this class is that it was very quiet and peaceful – especially compared to the Drumming classes!

Catherine especially liked this class where the female students were learning classical dances. I think she was keen to join them.

In this class the students were learning specific hand gestures that they will us while performing.

While on the tour we visited several classrooms. Each classroom was in a separate building on the campus. The students specialize on a particular instrument or skill. We visited about 5 different styles of drumming. It was neat to see and hear the students practicing their art.
