St. Ignace Michigan

We arrived at the marina in St. Ignace at 3:30 this afternoon – a 6 1/2 hour journey of approximately 45 nautical miles (83 kilometers). That’s pretty good time for a boat like this.

What do you do when you are on a long passage? Take turns sleeping & watching for traffic, enjoy the scenery, read or take on a chore that needs to be done.

Cheers!

Culinary Delights While Underway

Chris & I have divided up some of our “duties ” while on board. I look after the engine maintenance & Chris is in command of the galley.

Chris likes to cook so who am I to argue with that? I keep offering to take a turn at the stove but he won’t let me go beyond washing the dishes. I think it’s a self preservation strategy on his part. Probably a very wise move.

Anyway, we both love bacon & this morning Chris introduced me to a delicacy that I have never had before – toasted bacon & peanut butter sandwiches! Awesome!

Thanks Chris! (What’s for dinner tonight? 😜)

Drummond to St. Ignace

Today we are headed to St. Ignace, MI. which is just west of Mackinac Island. We left Drummond at 9:00am after filling up our fuel tanks & pumping out our holding tanks. Our passage will be about 40 nautical miles/5 hours. It’s predominantly cloudy with light winds so we will be motoring all the way to our destination today.

At the current time we are just passing by the DeTour Reef lighthouse. We are still in the North Channel/Lake Huron & will not be in Lake Michigan waters until tomorrow.

Cheers!
