The Full Monty in Egg Harbor

45°5′24″ N 87°15′36″ W

Last night Bo & Molly took us to see a local summer theatre production of “The Full Monty”, which was put on by the Peninsula Players Theater company. Their theater is located just north of Egg Harbor. This theatre company has been active at the same location since 1937. It is on a beautiful property right on the shoreline of Green Bay.

You can find out more about the theater company and their productions by following this link to their website: http://www.peninsulaplayers.com/performances/2016-plays/the-full-monty/

The theatre was virtually sold out & the show was great. It was staged as a musical. If you are familiar with “The Full Monty” story you may be wondering if the boys “bared it all” in the finale. Sorry, but you will have to go & see the play yourself to find out :). If you are able to make the trip to see it you won’t be disappointed.

Cheers!

A Quick Tour Of North Door County

Bo & Molly gave us a quick tour of some interesting places in North Door County. Here is a summary of just a few of the stops we made during our four hour tour. A person could easily spend two weeks touring & enjoying the County & there would still be lots left to see & do on return visits!

Our first stop was at Hyline Orchard. 45°4′21″ N 87°15′27″ W

This is a family operated business that grows cherries and apples. They have a store that sells fresh fruit and preserves and baked goods! We bought a cherry pie that I am really looking forward to digging into! Their store was really cool!

Our next stop was at Fine Line Designs Gallery. 45°10′28″ N 87°9′29″ W

The entire area has many artists, sculpturers & craftspeople. This particular place had many interesting kinetic steel sculptures & beautiful paintings, glassworks & other interesting pieces inside. Bo & Molly’s dog Reilly enjoyed the butterfly chair.

Next along the way was Al Johnson’s restaurant in Sister Bay.  45°11′24″ N 87°7′14″ W

This is a really neat place with a grass roof that is tended by a small herd of goats! Needless to say, they draw a lot of attention from passers by.

Another stop along the way was Cave Pointe County Park. 44°55′48″ N 87°10′23″ W

This place is on the eastern (Lake Michigan) side of Door County. The views are spectacular.

Wave Pointe Marina & Resort

44°50′39″ N 87°33′29″ W

We arrived at Wave Pointe Marina & Resort at 10:30 this morning. It was a pretty easy passage from Egg Harbor – only a few hours. We even saw some tall ships leaving Sturgeon Bay en route to Green Bay (city). I will try to post a few photos from my camera later today or tomorrow. We understand that the tall ships will be in Green Bay over the weekend so we may get a chance to see some more.

Alternator Update – I spent an hour on the phone yesterday trying to find a source for a replacement alternator & finally found one in Green Bay, so Chris & I will head there on Sunday & pick up the unit on Monday morning.

The next few days we will focus on visiting with Bo & Molly. Looking forward to seeing them again & having some good fun. Meanwhile, Ananda will have a few (well earned) day’s rest at a beautiful marina.

We have stayed at several nice marinas on our trip but this one is the nicest we have been at to date. If you are traveling this area by water or by land I highly recommend that you make a stop here.

Cheers!

It’s A Small World

45°2′58″ N 87°16′59″ W

Yesterday we were tied up on the wall at Egg Harbor at a spot where all the land visitors to the marina walk by to get a better view of the boats in the marina & of the bay.

I had taken a shower & hung my CH2M HILL logo branded beach towel on the boat’s railing to dry in the sun. A few minutes later I heard a knock on the side of the boat. The fellow knocking asked me if I worked for CH2M & I replied that I do! He said that he & his wife work for the company too!

Rich & His wife Kiesha work in CH2M’s Washington DC office. They are vacationing in the Egg Harbor area with their 3 children. They came aboard & the kids had lots of fun exploring the boat.

It’s pretty neat that such a simple thing as a beach towel with a brand name on it can bring people together.

Cheers!
