Ananda in Egg Harbor, WI

45°2′58″ N 87°16′59″ W

We arrived in Egg Harbor at about 9:45am Central time (10:45 Eastern). Roughly 15 hours travel time & 175 kilometers travelled (95 nautical miles).

We are now only a few miles from Molly & Bo’s place. This is the closest marina so they will come here to fetch us.

The weather is sunny & hot. We both had several naps on the overnight passage. Now it’s time to catch up on some more zzzzzzzzz before we explore the town.

Cheers!

Entering Green Bay At Sunrise

45°16′51″ N 86°56′13″ W

As promised, here is my sunrise report.

We made it through the night without any problems. Chris & I took turns on watch & sleeping/napping.

The autohelm worked perfectly & kept us on track without any need for adjustment, except for our pre planned course changes.

The Honda generator ran perfectly as well – standing in for our alternator.

We are now leaving Lake Michigan & entering the waters of Green Bay. At sometime through the night we also passed through a time zone & are now in the Central time zone.

I’ll give another brief report when we arrive at our next destination, which is Egg Harbor.

Cheers!

Midnight on Lake Michigan

45°13′51″ N 85°52′59″ W

It’s just turned midnight & we have traveled about 1/3 of the total distance to our destination.

GPS says we have traveled about 24 nautical miles & we have about 60 more to go – roughly 8-9 hours more. Average speed is about 7 knots.

Chris & I are taking turns on the helm while the other naps. Not much to do except watch the chart plotter to confirm we are on course & keep an eye on the engine instrument gauges.

There are lots of stars in the sky overhead but the forward visibility is pretty much non existent. As a result all we can do is watch for other the lights of other boats.

Water depth in this part of the lake is consistently over 400 feet so there’s not any worry about running aground.

There is a slight chop on the water but we are having a comfortable passage & the marine forecast is very good. Light winds, no thunderstorms & wave heights of 2 feet or less.

Time for my nap, I’ll post another report at sunrise.
