Pelicans on Green Bay!

There are quite a few commercial fishermen on Green Bay. When we entered the bay last Thursday we began seeing lots of fishing net markers floating on the water & had to pay close attention to our course to make sure that we did not run over top of any of them. From a distance it’s often hard to tell if you are looking at markers or at seagulls.

Not long after our first marker sightings I saw a unusually large white one & as we got closer I realized that it was a pelican. I pointed it out to Chris & he commented that maybe I had been out in the sun a bit too long :). However, it wasn’t too much longer before we saw several more & we were able to confirm that we were not imagining things.

Bo told me that white pelicans are common on Green Bay. When we arrived at our marina there were lots of them resting on small islands near the shore.
